Kids in Motion

Tammy provides consultations and treatment for a wide range of paediatric conditions. A full assessment is taken on the initial visit. Treatment then varies depending on the condition and may include physiotherapy, craniosacral therapy, management advice and exercises or play ideas to continue at home.

Hands on therapy aims to-

  • support and encourage normal movement patterns
  • improve posture and alignment
  • improve body awareness
  • help to normalise muscle tone for functional activities
  • improve coordination and balance
  • encourage the natural development of fine and gross motor skills
  • prevent or maintain secondary conditions (eg. muscle contractures)

Physiotherapy for young children involves gentle handling and facilitation as part of play, in an unpressured environment. Specific stretching, sensory feedback (proprioceptive) and massage techniques may also be used. Much care is taken to ensure that children feel safe and comfortable during treatment.
